Part-Time DOT Physical Provider – Lincoln, NE
Occupational Health Services Division
Diversified Safety & Compliance is hiring a part-time DOT Physical Provider in Lincoln, NE. Flexible weekday schedule, no nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call. Exams are primarily performed for drivers of established carrier compliance customers. Certification support may be available.
About the Role
Diversified Safety & Compliance is seeking a licensed medical provider to perform DOT physicals and related occupational health exams at our Lincoln, Nebraska location.
This is a great opportunity for a provider who wants flexible, part-time weekday work without the demands of traditional clinical scheduling. There are no on-call shifts, no weekends, no holidays, and no overnight work. The ideal candidate may be looking for a few days per week, supplemental income, a slower-paced clinical environment, or a transition out of a high-volume patient care setting.
Unlike a general walk-in clinic environment, our DOT physicals are primarily performed for drivers and employees of established Diversified Safety & Compliance customers. These are employers we already support through carrier compliance, drug and alcohol testing, FMCSA programs, occupational health services, and workplace safety programs. The provider is not simply seeing random walk-in traffic; they are supporting employer relationships within a structured compliance program.
The provider will perform DOT physical exams for commercial motor vehicle drivers and help determine whether drivers meet applicable FMCSA physical qualification standards. The role requires professional judgment, accurate documentation, strong communication skills, and the ability to apply DOT medical standards consistently.
We are most likely looking for an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant, Chiropractor, Physician, or similar licensed provider who is eligible to become an FMCSA Certified Medical Examiner. Current FMCSA Certified Medical Examiner status is preferred, but not required. Diversified Safety & Compliance may pay for the required training, testing, and certification for the right qualified candidate.
This role may also support additional occupational health services such as non-DOT physicals, pre-employment exams, fit-for-duty exams, return-to-work evaluations, basic screenings, and employer-requested medical evaluations based on provider qualifications.
Schedule
This is a flexible, part-time weekday position.
Possible schedules may include:
- Monday through Friday, reduced hours.
- Two to three weekdays per week.
- Set recurring days each week.
- Flexible daytime hours based on provider availability and business needs.
There are no nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts required.

- Submit or support required DOT physical reporting through the National Registry process.
- Communicate professionally with drivers, employers, and internal team members.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all applicable medical, privacy, and company requirements.
- Support related occupational health services when qualified.
- Represent Diversified Safety & Compliance with professionalism, accuracy, and sound clinical judgment.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted professional license, certification, or registration that allows the provider to perform physical examinations under Nebraska law.
- Current FMCSA Certified Medical Examiner status or ability to meet all requirements to become certified.
- Willingness to complete required FMCSA training, testing, and certification if not already certified.
- Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
- Ability to apply DOT and FMCSA requirements consistently.
- Professional communication skills with drivers, employers, and internal staff.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow compliance requirements.
- Comfortable using computers, online portals, electronic records, and reporting systems.
- Reliable weekday availability for part-time clinic-based work in Lincoln, NE.
- Interest in a flexible, professional role outside of a traditional high-volume clinical schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current listing on the FMCSA National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners.

- Experience with CDL drivers, motor carriers, DOT-regulated employers, or safety-sensitive employees.
- Familiarity with Medical Examiner’s Certificates, driver qualification requirements, and employer compliance needs.
- Ability to work independently in a professional clinic setting.
- Interest in part-time, flexible weekday work.

- Opportunity to move out of a traditional clinical setting.
- Professional, compliance-focused work environment.
