A Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is a driver's state driving history. We pull and review MVRs at hire and annually (49 CFR 391.23/391.25), flag disqualifying offenses, and file the review in the DQF.
Motor vehicle records are foundational to DOT compliance — and to your hiring decisions, insurance, and liability. Federal rules require an MVR from every state where a driver held a license in the past three years, both at hire and at least once a year after. The record shows the violations, suspensions, and DUI/DWI convictions that can disqualify a driver or raise your risk.

We obtain the MVRs, review each one against the disqualifying-offense standards, and document the annual review in the driver's qualification file — so both the record and the review are there when an auditor asks.

At hire, a carrier must obtain the driver's motor vehicle record from every state where the driver held a CDL or license in the preceding three years. At least once a year thereafter, the carrier must obtain an updated MVR and review the driver's record to determine continued qualification.
Documented review
The annual review of driving record must be documented and kept in the driver's qualification file. We complete and file that review.
State fees
State DMVs charge a fee for each record; those fees are passed through to you at cost.
